    Beacon Pen (Stock#2963)

This 'Beacon' pen is stamped "Barbour South Shields", the clothing company which still exists. This pen probably dates to the 1940s or 50s. There are no cracks, scratches or bite marks and the pen closes firmly with a single turn. The gold plating on the clip is excellent, a little worn on the cap rings and lever. I believe the clip is a replacement. The warranted 14 carat gold nib is a soft, springy medium. A new sac has been fitted and the pen fills and writes well (see writing sample).

A rare pen about which little is known. A very nice writer.
