    Pitman's Fono Lever Filler (Stock#2848)

The old-established publishing firm of Sir Isaac Pitman and Sons, famed especially for Pitman's Shorthand, began selling pens in 1930. This Pitman's Fono Lever Filler is in good condition. It measures 13.6 cm capped. There are no cracks, scratches or bite marks but the black hard rubber is faded. The gold plating is good, though shows some wear on the lever. The pen closes firmly with one and a half turns. The barrel imprints are faint but legible. The warranted 14 carat nib is a very fine firm. A new sac has been fitted and the pen fills and writes well (see writing sample).

An historically interesting pen and a nice writer.
