    Conway Stewart 388 (Stock#3110)

This Conway Stewart 388 measures 12.7 cm and is the later version with the number on the first line. It began life as the Burgundy marble pattern but, as with many of this pattern, it is faded to a brown/grey/black marble. There are no cracks, major scratches or bite marks. The barrel imprint is worn but legible. The gold plating is good on the clip and cap rings but has suffered loss on the lever. The pen closes firmly with a single turn. A new sac has been fitted and the pen fills and writes well (see writing sample). The Conway Stewart CS5N nib is a firm medium oblique stub.

Despite having lost some of its colour and plating, it remains an attractive pen and an excellent writer.
